Thanks for stopping by our family farm website! We are a multigenerational farming operation in Madison County, producing and operating everything from meat chickens, beef cattle, and eggs, to fresh vegetables, hay for livestock, horse boarding, trail riding, and more. Our family has been farming here for over four generations, and we’re proud to continue that legacy while supporting our local ag economy and the broader Eastern Kentucky community.
We believe the land nourishes us in more ways than one—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and it’s our duty to protect the soil and care for it so it can continue giving back. Farming isn’t just a job for us; it’s a way to connect people to the land, to nurture it sustainably, and to pass those values on to the next generation.
We work alongside nature rather than against it, understanding that the long-term health of our farm depends on the health of our soil, water, plants, and animals. This approach guides everything we do, from planting and raising livestock to running our farm business and engaging with the community. We are dedicated to passing these values along, teaching future generations to respect and care for the land, just as our ancestors taught us.

Our Fresh Produce & Farm-Raised Meats
The hens are laying, and our eggs are ready for your table—order a dozen today! We’ve been raising beef cattle for three generations, and we’re offering shares for a half beef. Recently, we’ve also started raising sheep on a larger scale, diving into the world of small ruminants, and we couldn’t be more excited about this new venture. Our vegetable gardens grow a variety of produce for family, friends, and soon, members of our small CSA. Using raised beds, high tunnels, and fenced gardens, we focus on growing sustainably with integrity, kindness, and minimal chemical inputs, all while nourishing the soil that nourishes us.

Agribusiness Coaching & Soil Health Support
Our journey into coaching other farmers felt like a natural next step. I, Angel Ballew, have spent years watching my family work tirelessly—not just to feed our family or make a profit, but out of a true love for the soil and for creating something that lasts.
In 2024, we officially launched our farmer coaching and soil health advising services in partnership with Mountain Association to help other passionate farmers succeed. Our goal is to remove common barriers to production and make farming a little easier through community, resources, training, and support. We provide soil health advising, technical assistance, and farm business coaching to help farmers grow healthy farms and thriving communities.

Small CSA Program Launch
We’re excited to announce our upcoming Ballew Farms Buyers’ Club, a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program launching in Spring 2026! Members can expect fresh, seasonal produce and farm-fresh products delivered or picked up regularly. This is a chance to be part of our farm community, get to know what we grow, and share in the work and rewards of sustainable farming. Contact us today to sign up or provide input on what you’d like to see in your CSA box!
