CraftHersTable Build Project
Co-owned and operated by Amber Anthony
What can we make with our own hands to carry our food traditions forward?
CraftHersTable invites participants to create something useful for their own kitchens and families. During this 45-minute hands-on activity, participants will build a simple food-related project—such as a cutting board, spice rack, or similar practical piece—and leave with both a handmade item and new skills. The mission of the CraftHersTable is to foster women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and community connection. Just as sharing a meal brings people together, creating something together builds confidence, preserves practical skills, and strengthens resilient communities. Participants leave with a handmade piece, new connections, and a reminder that caring for ourselves and our neighbors is a powerful form of community care.
Latoya Drake’s Interactive Pickling Demonstration
How do we make the harvest last?
Led by food educator Latoya Drake, this hands-on demonstration explores the art and importance of safe food preservation. With more than a decade of experience in food and SNAP education, LaToya will share trusted canning and pickling methods that help families avoid common mistakes, safely preserve fresh food, and make the most of seasonal harvests.
Participants will leave with new skills, take-home resources, and a sample or handmade pickled item to inspire their own kitchen traditions.
